The Sylva: Coding Nature project by Debora Hirsch explores the fascinating dialogue between physical and digital nature, creating an immersive experience that reflects the theme of Fuorisalone "Connected Worlds." Within a hidden garden in the heart of the Brera Design District, real plants and flowers alternate with screens that display the artist’s work, created through artificial intelligence, proprietary datasets, post-production, and digital animation. Hirsch’s digital compositions, presented across seven screens in the installation, are inspired by global biodiversity-reinterpretations of plants from different parts of the world that, suspended in a state of perpetual transformation, merge aesthetics with environmental consciousness.
Debora Hirsch: Herbaria was on view at HM&C from November 2024 through March 2025.
