Opening October 15th, the National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts and Culture, Chicago, is honored to present Puerto RicanEquation: mixed media works, video y El Espiritu Santo, an exhibition by the artist Juan Sánchez. Through his powerful mixed media collages, works on paper, printmaking, and video, Sánchez weaves together layers of paint, photography, appropriated images, and text to explore complex themes of Puerto Rican identity, colonialism, and cultural heritage.
