On Saturday, October 12th, Juan Sánchez was awarded the National Ceiba Award at the National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts and Culture, Chicago. In his exhibition at the museum curated by Yasir Nieves, Juan Sánchez Puerto RicanEquation: mixed media works, video y El Espiritu Santo, Sánchez reminds us that while we cannot be free from our past, we must never forget our history. It is only by acknowledging this continuity that we can pave the way to our destiny. Through his art, Sánchez envisions a journey towards freedom, where the light at the end of the tunnel is illuminated by the spirit of resistance and hope.
