"Debora Hirsch’s work consistently explores contemporary anthropology and the impact of technology on culture and society, reshaping the multidisciplinary approach of her research. Originally from São Paulo and now based in Milan, she gathers information and images to craft a distinctive visual language that reflects a metaphysical view of art. Her creations—spanning paintings, videos, installations, and digital artworks—form part of an ongoing inquiry. Driven by her passion for computer systems and nature, she has dedicated herself to the 'Plant' project, a digital effort to document and preserve endangered plant species, building a permanent artistic archive of what the humanity risk losing."
Debora Hirsch: Herbaria was on view at HM&C from November 2024 through March 2025.
