Emulating the octagonal fortified city plan inside a star, Debora Hirsch’s large installation consists of eight panels, covering each side of an octagonal structure, and generating a trompe l'oeil effect. In each panel, we find members of the illustrious Pico family seated in the boxes of the Teatro Nuovo (currently closed for restructuring). They are now just images staring at the mise en scène of the city’s life, where citizens become protagonists of their own causes and visions or merely engage in daily routine.
