Within his work, Freddy Rodríguez (b.1945, Dominican Republic, d.2022, New York) fused conceptual and stylistic elements from New York School painting with Dominican history, Caribbean culture, and transnational issues. He had exhibited widely, and is the subject of a forthcoming monograph by E. Carmen Ramos, which is part of the A Ver: Revisioning Art Historybook series published by the UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center.
